On Wednesday, The Belham hosted Jeffrey Boakye, renowned author, presenter and speaker. He led sessions with the children about Black British History highlighting how these were recorded an influenced many popular songs and artists today. The children asked some brilliant questions ranging from 'What is your favourite piece of history?' to 'Can I illustrate your next book!?!'
In the evening, Jeffrey held a talk for parents about the changing demographic of Peckham and the importance of self-identity. A powerful session which left many of the attendees with points to think about.
